Keanu Reeves returns as John Wick 2 begins filming this fall

A movie starring Keanu Reeves as vengeful hitman returning from his retirement proved to be a huge hit, which makes its sequel announcement all the less unexpected. The new film will be directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski and Derek Kolstad will be in charge of working on its script.

Fundemental Films has apparently accidentally revealed the begging date of the filming in their press release regarding Outlaws Inc.

"Thunder Road’s upcoming releases include Sicario directed by Denis Villeneuve starring Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, and Josh Brolin, and the tent pole film Gods of Egypt for Summit/Lionsgate directed by Alex Proyas. Also upcoming is a sequel to the hit actioner John Wick starring Keanu Reeves which begins shooting this Fall," says a press release.

It was revealed to us by Stahelski, that he and his colleague have no problems with coming up with ideas for the new movie and that making all of them fit is what matters the most.

"We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original. It’s the matter of story and how much you like the character. That’s always the most important. If there’s great action but you have a character that no one likes and doesn’t have charisma you’re not going to watch it. Look at any great action star, whether it’s Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson or Robert Downey Jr., pick a name, you love the guy first. Good action, bad action, you just love them in action. So we want to make sure we have a story and a character that everybody loves and then we’ll dress it with action that we promise will be awesome."
